It's summer 2011.....wind back around 4 and a half years or so.....and let the fun begin.

So it was strange. Myself and Bob met via Facebook on a dedicated Superdream page. Unsure if that still exists but basically it was crap.....total rubbish. We thought there there was a need for a dedicated Superdream forum.....I knew nothing about setting up a forum so Bob said he would look into it. And look into it he did.....

It was a good set up - cannot remember the supplier of it - it certainly wasn't a proboards forum but Bob did well in setting it up. I worked hard to put a lot of stuff into it including the Honda Superdream History page. As with every new forum, member numbers and interest was generally very slow.
After about a month I noticed another forum existed - The Honda Superdream Forum opened by someone calling himself Shane. It appeared there was also an admin assistant calling himself Geds. This was a proboards forum and when I noticed it, there was probably around seven members......but those numbers was rising faster per day than they were on our forum. Not by a massive amount - but it was noticeable.

After another week I noticed an ebay listing for a 'Honda Superdream Lightbulb'.....
Curious, I clicked on the listing......and there it was - an advert for the other forum. So that's how people were finding the other site....I was impressed by this, it was a good way of drumming up members.
I decided to also join the other forum to see what was going on. I struggled to think of a name to call myself - thinking I would not be on there for long I simply quickly registered the name 'Fungobat' without giving it much thought. I used to work at the National Traffic Control Centre in Halesowen some years ago and we had a secure email system for Police messages to us.....well it was meant to be secure, but on many occasions the email address would receive spam emails from the States. A recurring email was advertising Viagra and I recall the opening line was 'Get a Fungobat in your pants'.

One thing's for sure, I will keep the negativity to a minimum as I think we all made mistakes and hopefully learned from them. I'm not bitter any longer. The part where we get to the rebels was quite fascinating. |

Er um.....
Okay so I stayed as a member on the 'other' forum and started to promote mine and Bob's site (on one post) which was of course naughty......and Shane was having none of it. The post was removed straight away. He seemed aware of us and wanted no nonsense which you cannot blame....so I became a bit of an enemy of Shane - he had my card marked and wanted no one else on the net showing an interest in the Superdream unless it was on the forum he created......so I caved in and built a bridge with the bloke. I liked what he'd done with the ebay thing - very simple but effective, and the forum was taking off because of it. Not rocketing as such but after around a few weeks more the site must have been heading for around 40 members. Mine and Bob's site had a depressing 10 members at most. We could of copied the masterstroke on ebay but it was not our style to copy....
