quick repair (bodge) while messing about with the xbr seat. the inner tailpiece has a crack in it so warmed an old screwdriver up with the blow torch, flipped it over and held the crack firmly closed against my knee while melting a little channel into the rear side. then simply fill the channel in with this superdec stuff and job done

as we were discussing seat covers last night and the fitting of, I thought I'd best get on with it (done three today, two SD's and an xbr) this job is much easier if all or most of the seat tangs are there and usable, its a proper pain when loads are missing. these clips were a godsend for doing this job, £1.50 well spent. rubbers fitted and new (non original, sorry) edge trim fitted then foam tacked in place with a bit of spray glue, came off a badly rusted deluxe model, trying to get the rust off the foam was the second hardest job I'v done today. then cover on and tease it all into place with a paint stripping gun (carefully) and finally trim the excess, stick any flappy bits down with spray glue and refit the strap and mounting gubbins

That looks great Buster. If it helps at all when applying the colour, I found that getting it level and at a good working height could be done with some locking wire at the front and a dowel of some sort through the bung holes at the back. That way I could get a good look at the job while painting it in the position it would be seen on the bike. No chance of missing an obvious bit.

I'm not up to that standard, but good advice thanks, its actually going two tone (unless I make a complete arse of it)

Your box isn't silver is it?
