Sorry to hear your health isn’t great Ian, also that the interceptor is going I love mine. However I am a great admirer of the hunter and it will be more practical for you. Look forward to seeing you on your new bike 👍 I love my Interceptor too, but I'm hoping to hang on to my 650GT for a bit longer. It's easier to paddle around than the Interceptor as the rear set foot pegs don't get in the way. Mind you, I've done over 11.000 miles on the Int & I've not had any problems with it, but I've had a few problems with the GT & the ignition fault sometimes still crops up. Anyway, my Hunter order is in, I've gone for the Dapper Ash version

Just been editing my post to put it right! It's a good job the Grey one wasn't in stock or I might have made the same mistake when I put the order in

I've not got my Hunter yet, but the luggage rack arrived from India today I'm hoping this one will be ok as it has extra support braces running down to the mounting brackets unlike the one that came fitted to my Interceptor, which soon broke. The forward tube in the picture doesn't reach the mounting bracket, so all the stress is taken by the single tube running back on each side. I welded it up with a couple of triangular brace pieces joining the forward tubes to the bracket. When the GT came along, I put the rack on it & got a new, stronger looking one, from India for the Interceptor. It broke on a trip to Wales . Luckily, the garage in Llangollen welded it up with some extra tubes to give the necessary support. I did paint it once we got home

I'd looked at those Ian , of the Ebay options they looked the best with the extra reinforcing . I was just concerned that they were cantilevered off the two grab rail brackets only 50mm or so apart and so there was going to be a lot of leverage applied . A chap on a FB Hunter group has one and reckons it's sound , seems to be a RE "thing" the Himalayan would break its standard rack , I welded an extra bracing tube on each side . You can see where some of the racks are going to break , right in the middle of the bend but hard to see where else they could be braced . When's the bike due ?

I got a text from a friend who called in at the dealers today. It's arrived there, but is still in the crate. Hopefully I should be able to get it by the end of next week, although then I might have to wait for a dry day to take the Interceptor up & bring the Hunter back. I'll report back on the fitting of the rack when I've got it home.

On the rack side I have had no issue - I bought a genuine RE one for my interceptor, they are actually made by Givi in Italy

Yes, the Givi rack has sufficient support, with 2 tubes running to the fixing brackets, one from the back of the rack & one from the front. Mine was about half the price, but not much less by the time I'd paid for the repair As to the reg number, I'll just go with the number I'm issued. It'll be RMN anyway, that's what they're up to now. Don't suppose I'll strike lucky & get RMN 350E

Funny you should ay that......The RMN plates I have seen so far have been either xyzA or xyzB so I didn't think I could get an E 'cos it's a way off bring issued, but today I saw a couple of D regs so E can't be far, off so I will ask
