Congrats on your new acquisition .. She looks a real belter...like your choice of colour scheme, looking forward to your views and comments on handling, performance, build quality, and how you think it stacks up against a well sorted 250 SD.. Thanks , was easily my favourite of the UK colour schemes . Impressed with the build quality so far ,they have improved things since my Himalayan , nice tool kit in a roll too . Gone back to supplying the all tools needed to adjust the chain , shocks etc , was disappointed in my Triumph that had just one allen key in a rubber holder !
Going to be a while before I'll know too much about the performance and handling, the roads round here are now all covered in salty grime or frost .
Suspect the "performance" is going to be much like a "lazy" 250N , 27 HP and 20Nm of the 250 against 20 HP and 27Nm of the 350 Hunter .

Lovely looking bike. Great colours. Enjoy the ride. Gee. I first seen your bike on my phone and it looked great, now seen it on my pc....wow. I just love the colours of it. The shape still looks timeless even for a brand new bike. Will you be using it during the winter or is it a summer bike? I would think it would be torquey. Gee.

Thanks Gee , I'll be using it (hopefully) Summer and Winter but I've not been out on it yet as its just sheet ice and gunge round here atm and I don't bounce as well as I once did - and am more sensible !
I liked the look of the HUnter from early on , previous Royal Enfields have had a 50's vibe about them , this looks more 70s-80s to me , just a standard simple bike .
Looking forward to some half decent weather , or at least above zero , freezing fog here all day and -3

This week's MCN has a road test on the Hunter alongside a Herald Brute 500 & a Mash 250. Not read it yet but it should be interesting, just a pity they didn't pick the Mash 400 rather than the 250.

Well the Hunter came out top, despite the Brute's 42.9hp against the Hunter's 20.2. They also praised the Brute's styling & enjoyed the ride plus the build quality was good, like the Enfield, but it's expensive - £7,200 versus the Hunter's £3,899. The Mash came last due to poor quality & finish, plus the test bike had a knobbly front tyre which affected the handling badly - and it's a hundred quid more than the Hunter!

All three of Enfields new 350s have the same engine but run slightly different maps that makes the Hunter the nippiest of the three ,all three (Hunter ,Classic and Meteor) have a top speed of 75 mph as they are all limited but there is an open air filter cover available from tec bike parts and Hitchcocks which gives the bikes a boost in torque which gets you there faster ,I've still got my heart set on a Meteor which I should have in time for spring ,can't wait

Unbelievably I got out for the first time on my new bike today , when it was delivered it was sheet ice round here then 5 days later I went on holiday , by that time it was -6 .
Got back last night & so finally got to ride my bike for more than a few feet today , a first for me to have a running bike for a month before riding it .
Its almost exactly as you'd expect , coming from my 27 BHP CRF250 it feels a lot more "solid" at low revs with no tendency to stall etc , still running in so not exploring its full "performance" . I gave the discs a clean with brake cleaner before heading out and there was quite a lot of dirt on the new discs , brakes seem good with a slightly soft front lever . Rear suspension not too stiff & works well for my 95kg weight . Mirror image a bit fuzzy , will look at options to add weights or change them if needed , no noticeable vibes so maybe the long mirror arms ?
Easy to ride and despite being tall I enjoyed the reduction in seat height from the 34+" of the CRF . All good , now whether it's going to be faster than a silver 250N is another question - if both had to stay in top gear I'm sure it would be .........

The ground looks a bit wet for a ride on a brand new bike! . Be interesting how the performance compares to the CRF - on my shortlist I've got CB300F at 30bhp. I also thought about a Z400, 44bhp, but had another go on Gill's a couple of days ago & didn't find it comfortable. Neither are 'retro', but it's riding I'm interested in
