Looks like you are getting on well , you are just ahead of me , Still got to sort the jointing compound. Very simple and cheap, £4.94 with free delivery from Amazon. Hylomar F/HMMS00C/040G 40g Universal Blue. I apply it with a small paint brush, so no mess and there is no hurry as it is not going off. Used it on all my bikes and for aircraft (as it was designed for). You don't need to use loads, just enough to cover the prepared surface with a thin film. Any excess when joint is compressed is easily wiped off. Used correctly, that small tube will last you years ! If I may offer a tip. Dry fit the lower case gently, and locate (and clean first) all the bolts so you know you have them all to hand, and you know where they go. I spent 3 hours getting ready ! (Cleaning, preparing work surface and tools to be tidy). Ten minutes bolting it on !

Thanks Duffer Buster provided me with a list of bolt require, so I will find them this morning. crankcase halves 3@ m6 x 105mm 4@ m6 x 80mm 1@ m6 x 60mm 3@ m6 x 50mm 1@ m6 x 40mm 4@ m6 x 32mm 1@ m8 x 135mm starter motor 2@ m6 x 60mm clutch cover (8mm spanner to fit head of flanged bolt) 12@ m6 x 28mm 2@ m6 x 35mm stator cover (8mm spanner to fit head of flanged bolt) 5@ m6 x 35mm I normally use grease on joints that have paper gaskets and apply that with a paint brush but with try it with the compound. I think I have used Hylomar before many years ago will give it a try. Cheers Graham

I've got the last remnants of a tube I bought in the late seventies marvellous stuff spoken like a true yorkshireman terry I,m not avin that ! Terry was kind enough to give me the crank case to fix the second engine. A TRUE Yorkshireman would surely wait until I have got it running....... then ask for it back ?
