Okay so scratch that......Carl has just found conclusive damning evidence. I will hand you over...... My Blue one is 100 percent original and has a blue frame, I can remember these bikes when they were released in 81/82 I went to the nec bike show in Birmingham and sat on a brand new one on display. I am sure that the grey/silver model had a colour matched frame. After a prompt from Nick I found a photo of a original bike I tried to buy but missed out on as I’m too tight 😤. Here’s the photo and what I believe is proof, I just can’t understand why so many can be found with black frames. Also look at item 15 on the sales brochure.

That colour suits the CB650SC better than it does the SD in my opinion....but others may disagree.

Guys I’ve bought a Bonnie.
Love me or hate me and for the job in hand....I’ve bought a Bonnie be it a re-make ‘John Bloor homes’ 2004 vintage.
It does have carbs and was built in Leicestershire though...no Thai assembled fuel injection on this one.

My impression then was Triumph had made a bike for the “older” rider and 14 years ago I didn’t consider myself ready for one lol. It seemed dull and boring.Over the years they’ve tailored their bikes to suit all riders with all sorts throughout the range now

But to conclude this thread, the seller of the VF500F Interceptor went cold.....but this Bonnie was a bargain. I've not sold out (see resto section).....I have sold my 450 Nighthawk for something bigger that's all....and this seems to fit the bill. I'll create a new thread on this bike from point of delivery if the interest is there.

I was tempted by the NVT rambler and easy rider that was there too but I decided to leave them for another Del Boy.

Wise decision Carl,no profit in them I reckon. But I do like the CX might consider one myself.I remember riding my brothers and it felt bigger than my 550 found a nice one but too much wanted for it.

I expected them too be really heavy, pleasantly surprised not too bad, I’m looking forward to riding it that will make me decide whether to keep or move on.
