Two petcocks... Can anyone tell me in their own words what this is all about? Please educate me. Is this a Yamaha thang? I’d guess its just (nasty bodge, what do you expect with a yam ) to ensure enough fuel flow to each carb and avoid having to put a fuel pump on it, but I’m only thinking out loud

Aside from p*ssing my neighbours off earlier........ happy to report the Yam is a runner. Starter clutch sounds horrific, a downfall with this version apparently....but.... Basic tasks like new plugs and fuel (nothing else as yet) and she is running.......impressive. Last time this was properly on the road, Midge Ure was in the charts.

Always a great sign though....I always look for this kind of standard on any machine......even on a 300 dollar example.

Sadly I am letting the Yam go this morning.
A brief 5 day affair but I've had an offer on it so she will leave here in an hour.

The bike was cheap to begin with but....... And not to get her roadworthy just to get her nice, you know what I am like with parts I just cannot help myself. I think just focus now on getting the 400T finished as I have most of the parts for that one already here.

Next up.....another Yam. Maybe the one. Reg is current and the bike is in great fettle for her 40 years according to the vendor. Either this or an 05 /06 Bonnie at twice the price. Worth a look on Friday morn.....18k and it has one of those kick start things so I can pretend I am on an old cool Brit. Like the old school Lesters on this too.
