I just had another read through the dmv forms in your restoration thread (and I thought dvla could be difficult) just to check if its compulsory to have a king and queen seat on a bike in california? Well only if you're a king. And for some reason it seems I am. (Look left, it's in the salmon).

Nighthawk no good - in too rough a condition for the money. Looked at a 650 Maxim as well with only 2k since 1981 on it but rough as a badger's a*se - biggest problem was the central crankcase had parts broken off and cooling fins broken off the head - and various other problems. Next up is this, again cheap. Worth a look tomorrow. Anyone know what it is before I tell you? Year and model would impress me.

My mate has a 750 Virago in his garage under a cover,he hasn’t started it or ridden it for 13 years and it looks in as new condition,he won’t give it to me as I keep suggesting mind you it has got tassels on the handlebars..That’ll keep you busy for a day or two but should clean up nicely

It's got a petrol tank with petrol in it! Gill's '88 535 had an empty tank with a dummy cap and no way of even putting your butties in it, which even my old Ariel Leader could manage. Needed to look for a petrol station after 80 miles & the pump for the under seat tank was another thing to go wrong

This thing was dirt cheap and the parts are all over fleabay.
Hoping it can give me at least some good service for a time. The tank inside is mirror clean.

Sought after over here for the motors as they make a great traditional cafe racer/Norvin lookalike stuck in a featherbed frame

Someone suggested on a classifieds site last night that I should turn it into a bobber, but not for me.
I suppose it's good to know that if it turns out to be too much of a hassle to get running it may be worth more in spares. I do like the look of the V twin motor on this, I think a much nicer looking bike than the 1982 Maxim I was offered. That one was a four cylinder.

Just put Honda badges on the tank nick, no one will know you have gone to the dark side then.

Is it more appealing than this? Even mildly? Or do you think there is not a lot in it?

Trying to work out how I have ended up with two projects. Why can't I just buy a Harley or post 2001 Bonnie and live happily ever after?

Can anyone tell me in their own words what this is all about? Please educate me. Is this a Yamaha thang?

If I get chance I’ll see if I can look at my mates bike.Everyone rides a Harley out there “If it ain’t shit it ain’t a Harley” is what they say I believe lol . Metric cruisers are not desireable at Harley events, they get torched or worse lol.
