Mr.Daimler gave us the first automobile in 1885 so I'd guess someone would have bunged an engine into a pushbike soon after? So I'll guess 1886,but probably not a production bike.Earliest bike I recall seeing was a 1903 Humber but it had 3 wheels so not REALY a bike lol

Only been to TT once,must be great living there especially being with your Dad as a kid watching the racing Yes it was great there were hundreds of people counting down the seconds and we could not hear the comentry on the loud speaker in them days the radio comentry was done at ballaugh but now it is glen Helen.my dad was captain of the darts team so the land lady let me sit on top of a bay window that gave me a view right down the road to Kirk Michael The weather is not being kind this week for the start of the classic tt and not looking good all week ps what year did you go to the tt Dave? 1997 and was just for a day to watch Joey Dunlop race.My stepson is going over on Thursday to stay for a week

Gonna run out of questions soon lol. Need more members on here answering the questions (or guessing in my case lol) What British motorcycle manufacturers name sounded bit like a screw thread There were two but one was two company names combined,one I refer to is one word.
