I certainly did. 1996 on an N plate in the teal blue/green colour. I bought it when it was 5 months old and swapped in my FZ600 and TDR250 against it. A cracking bike, I soon added a dynojet kit and a micron. Found you could wear through the footrests a bit easily though :-) Like!! I've now seen a cracking 5k mile MK1 bandit for sale in the North East at a fantastic price - literally out of the box. 1998/R in the Candy Koran Orange (met red basically). Footrest hangers are a weak point. The original finish is like a polished and then clear lacquered affair. It's the finish that suffers with even the slightness contact with a boot.

Don't think he meant the hangers Nick when he said he'd worn through. If you find your hangers are getting scuffed, try sticking some helicopter tape on them. Invisible if applied well and tough as old boots. A mk1 in candy orange is another 600?

A mk1 in candy orange is another 600? Indeed Listey - although I have found out tonight that the colour on this bike up for sale is Y3H instead of Y0W. The former seemed to be a 1997/8 colour, the latter offered on 1999 bikes which was the Mk1 run out model - the GSF600X.

I bet you regret trading that tdr stinkwheel, I had three one being new in 1990. Fantastic machines deeply regret selling my last one 8 years ago to fund a new kitchen table and chairs. Needless to say the table and chairs has long gone and the tdr' shave qudrupled in value.

Best colours for me were black, bright red or maroon. You really owe it to yourself to have a go on a 1200 if you fancy another mk1. Fantastic machine but getting harder to find nice original ones.

Tell me about it!!
I've also, coincidentally, owned 3 (actually maybe 4) TDR's over the years. I loved them and cant afford a decent one now, life is rubbish when it comes to bikes you owned and should have kept
Worse this thread is making me want an early bandit in Teal green again now too!!

The gsf1250 is not as fast as the zx7r...probably a good thing.. Wanted one without a fairing and foam grips because as you know they go faster.. Also its got no fuel tap? Did confuse my a bit..
