Their purpose is to stop zips and belt buckles scratching your paint epecially if the rider has a bit of a belly they were just plain to match the colour of your tank but they just kept getting fancier this is mine Is this not what bike paint shops are for? Aye, but a tank sticker is a lot cheaper than a repaint Nick..

I have to complain in the strongest terms.. My dear long suffering partner has had to put up with my addiction to motorcycles which is further compounded, by the blatant flaunting and promotion of this pornographic material. This web site should have warning signs. I understand that to the superdream purist, this must come as a real shock. I have been afflicted, weak, spending hours looking at Pictures of Suzuki bandits, and even contemplating buying one in my darkest moments. When will this suffering ever end? (Probably when I run out of money or space lol)...

Two good looking bikes there Nick. Gotta love a nice mk1. Why not the 1200?

Quite a rare one that. Early one with no pillion handles.

Curiously only the first year of production got holes right through on this sprocket cover. Confusing as it is, the 'S' was the naked version from 1995 although the GSF600 'S' is well understood to be the half faired version. Suzuki coded the year of manufacture with a letter before 2000. S is the year, N is the model. Yours is a GSF 600 NS. If it was faired it would be a GSF 600 SS

Always quite a bit more expensive and a tad rarer to find with low miles and great condition I guess. I also never owned one back in the day like I did the 6. (At 42 I seem to be wanting to buy back my youth already). Performance wise I also find the 600 quick enough - that's for sure.

P.S - have you ridden a 12?
I always wondered why Suzuki offered a 600 and 1200.......the latter being double the CC but nothing in between.
In my mind, it still seems a bit mad.

Yes, I've a mk1 1200. They did a 750, but wasn't released in uk. A gsxr750 motor is a popular swap into a 600. Never ridden one but im told it makes a useful machine.

The six I have always found quick enough as I say. I love a clean licence.

The six I have always found quick enough as I say. I love a clean licence. But then again perhaps I am missing the whole point of the 1200. I guess it's about smoothness and torque and not necessarily top end. After all, these bikes are all designed to be naked unfaired (with the half fairing as a factory option).

The whole point of the 1200, is toy. to be played with..As that u tube video I put up showed. The zx7r is quick but does not come out to play until 110mph, while my old RGV250 come out at 60mph. After watching the u tube video I knew that this bike would be some serious fun, Its just the sort of riding that I like to do. The zx7r is too much of a yoga session for me theses days, I can not be bothered to get my knee down anymore. I am trying to sell the zx7r and get a bandit, I would just buy buy one but I keep doing that and the garage is full to busting point. It really goes pear shape when they need some bits and pieces doing and I start buying up spares, and the cement mixer of a garage gets even more expensive junk..

<quote> I wonder if anyone owned one of these in the mid to late 1990's?</quote>
I certainly did. 1996 on an N plate in the teal blue/green colour. I bought it when it was 5 months old and swapped in my FZ600 and TDR250 against it.
A cracking bike, I soon added a dynojet kit and a micron. Found you could wear through the footrests a bit easily though :-)
