Wigan 1967, (I was 17) Tiger Cub...I set off, examiner watching, bike conked out, I'd forgotten to turn the petrol tap on DOH! He walked over to me, head shaking while I kicked it up again. I passed!

Capri 80...that brings back memories, my first ever bike! Bought it off my dad who was upscaling to an Excelsior. I used to cane it something shocking, it would seize up and come to a screeching halt, back wheel locked, give it a minute or two and off I went again...then I graduated to the cub...happy days

I took my test on a Tiger Cub & broke down, too. It was 1968 & in my case, the clutch cable had snapped, so the test was abandoned. I didn't aspire to more than a 250, so I didn't take it again 'till 1978 on a CB250G5. Passed this time, but kept the G5 another 10 years - told you I was happy with 250s 9
