Happy memories. Passed mine July 1952 on my 1935 350 Ariel NH, bought from the then girl friend (now wife) uncle for a fiver. Happy days.

Passed mine on a Yamaha rd250lc. The examiner didn't move from his original position. I did a figure of eight around two factory blocks. An emergency stop....where he was the only thing in the street with his clipboard held out at 90 degrees......and then he said I'd passed. He didn't smile once the whole time. That was in sept 1982. Had a bike in the garage ever since.
I had the LC until 2004 when some little imp stole it and trashed it in a field. I still feel a tad angry about that!
Grrrrr I was having a reasonable day until I recalled that........

I passed mine on a VESPA 125 or 150(i dont remember well) in 1981, after riding a c50 and my CB250N without licence for four years! If the Police had not arrest me, maybe i would ride my bikes until today wthout licence !!

1996, just before the rules changed. Came home armed with me pass certificate and an auto-trader. The missus took them off me saying I wasn't responsible enough to have a big bike. In hindsight she was probably right. ☺ About 10 years later, some friends were planning a trip round France on bikes, and the missus seemed keen, so the mission was on.. Went out and bought a minter of an early 1200 bandit, which I still have. I'd always wanted one since the mid 90's. The France trip went really well, MiSusie loves the bikes and so far no-one has died, just....... ?

1967 in Springburn, Glasgow on a Lambretta Li 150 series 1. It was knackered and would only do 45 flat out, maybe 50 in a strong wind, downhill. I hand painted it lilac, blue and red and I thought it was flash. Got the scooter to pass my test on so that I could legally ride my brother's Triumph 21 but it did keep my feet dry until I passed my test.

Nice one, Bob. My first bike was an Lambretta LD150, also in 1967. I bought it for 15 quid just before I left school ready for the journey to work. Once I started commuting, I realised it wasn't up to it, so I sold it & bought a Tiger Cub. Pushed that home more than once, as well.......

Didn't take my test on it but I had a Lambretta LD150 in 1969 bought for £10 as a non runner, the drive shaft was broken cost me 17/6d to have it fixed that was parts and labour! Happy days
