Chris (Srx600) sent me a couple of shortened rear shocks via Hermes a couple of weeks ago (I want to play about with lowering one of my SDs for Gill to ride). A couple of days ago, I checked their status via the tracking number & apparently they'd been delivered & signed for! I sent an email to say I'd never got them and got a reply yesterday saying they'd looked into it and decided they were lost - case closed. Oh well, I wasn't particularly bothered as I had an old pair I could cut up, but I resolved to avoid Hermes in the future. Then, when I opened the front door this morning, there they were on the doorstep! What do you reckon to that! Here's one, compared with an original - I'd be surprised if the back wheel doesn't touch the mudguard.

i had a similar thing last week, they said they attempted four deliveries but could not access the security door,
so i phoned the company where i purchased the item and explained what had happened so far, they said they would look
in to it, next day it arrived without a problem. weird.

I always go out of my way to avoid using UK fail Mail.......too many bad experiences including one that had my young lad in tears on his birthday a few years back.......but never really had any issues with my Herpes.

Maybe we should use the good old fashioned post office... keeps Richard in business, too!

I always use the good old PO in preference to anyone else. But above the "Small Parcel" 2kg limit they just price themselves out of the market?
Probably the larger stuff they are not interested in- but nearly 15 quid to send 5kg signed for is way over the odds nowadays....

The problem is they (RM) abolished the standard parcel service.
Now anything remotely large-ish or heavy-ish has to go with parcelforce...typically 48.
It is pricey over standard parcels but you are also paying for the tracking as it is tracked. I don't think RM wanted the heavy stuff....it was getting a bit too much and the posties were complaining.

I like DPD for deliveries as they give you a one hour delivery slot, and all the times they`ve delivered to me they have always been in it. So no hanging around all day wondering when your parcel is coming

I use DPD through work , I can send upto 30kg to mainland UK for £6.20 next day delivery and if you can supply receivers mobile number they text them with a hour delivery slot or arrange safe place or neighbours to receive delivery , they even send a picture message to show they,ve left it in the prearranged safe place so quite good I reckon !

Well keep up the good work Nick, I actively look for companies that use dpd when ordering anything now.
