Bag of stainless goodies arrived today. Got the caliper banjo bolts fitted & bled through in a couple of minutes Other side was even easier These calipers already had stainless bleed screws, so I didn't change them, but set up a test rig for Steve's - I'll have a go at these tomorrow BTW Don't install your master cylinder like this at home!

Just noticed in that middle picture, the R clip has gone walkabout again. Complete waste of time these are. My other bikes have split pins - I don't know why I keep persevering with a clip on this one

Finally tested Steve's bleed screws to day. Didn't get it done yesterday 'cos all the calipers fitted to my bikes have 8mm screws & the only 7mm caliper I have is 'dry' so I had to use my test rig & it took forever to get any fluid through. I've had this problem with every bike I've done recently - I must get a syringe so I can use Darthvader's tip! www.honda-superdream.co.uk/thread/6302/front-brake-rebuild-bleed-tip I tried my usual trick of just leaving it a few hours with no bleed screw fitted to let gravity do the job & that didn't work, so I resorted to this: Success! From then on, it was a matter of minutes to bleed using each of the screw Steve sent with my test rig. Back to the sizes. All four of my 400 calipers have 8mm bleed screws. I have two 250 calipers, one from my NB & one I got from ebay complete with a 4 bolt master cylinder, so I'm guessing N or NA. One of them has a 7mm bleed screw & the other an 8mm, but I'm not sure which is which as I've swapped them about a bit. The 7mm caliper is on the test rig above & here: The 8mm caliper is on my 250: Also, I notice one of Dave's screws has what looks like a 10mm hex & the other an 8mm, whereas I think all mine were originally 8mm.......??

Thank you for supplying them, Steve. I've fitted your banjo bolts to all three caliper on my running SDs now. I'll do the master cylinders & 400 splitter later - I want to try & make a start on my 400N next

Yes ian the 10mm hex is the 250n nipple. The tapered end is different as well, flat at the end rather than to a point I tried the one steve made in the 250 caliper, I tightened it down and then blew down it and it seems to seal ok ,but as the caliper is stripped down for restoration I can`t test it with fluid at the moment.

Had a look at cmsnl & the caliper part number changed from 45100413751 to 45100413753 at 2112739. They don't show the bleed screw as changing, but it wouldn't be the 1st time. Their picture of the screw is just like that one, 10mm hex & flat end
