as some of you know.i am allso on the fs1e forum.a post was put on there.asking members if they would like to chip in.to buy a cheap bike of shame.which would be painted and tarted up to look daft.so if any member broke down on a meet.and they had chiped in.could ride the so called bike.£10 was the price per person.all ready.in just over a couple of days.there is over £200 in the pot.i got thinking if that was on this site.how much would we have got?? as its all for fun and a pi55 take.due to two strokes not been very relieable.i think its a great idea and a laugh.your thoughts please

Back in January we had a one and only, once in a lifetime chance at this, Loz. Was trying to gain commitment from members but none was forthcoming. This would of looked great on the Superdream stand.......a classic rat.......so bad it's good.

I read all about the bike on the fizzy forum and it's brilliant. A fantastic idea. I think it would be a pretty pointless exercise on here though.

We're probably nowhere near the state of the Fizzy lads as regards organisation and commitment. We struggle to get more that 1 or 2 SD's in the same place at any time.
It's a shame really- as it is a really good idea to have a backup in the support van. I thought about bringing an extra bike to meets before and letting someone who was bikeless for any reason get the chance to join in the ride-out. I've also suggested we as a group have good spare CDI's, generators, rectifiers, etc. we could send out to members to aid trouble-shooting. Lukewarm reception I recall.
We could probably assemble a decent bike from good S/H parts we have TBH....

Do you not think it's easier to put a Fizzy or two in the back of a van than a lumpy Old SD, while I agree they do seem more up for meets logistically their easier to transport.
Hopefully we'll get a few SD's together in September but at the moment it's looking like only a few I'm afraid.

The fizzy guys have matured (no disrespect to their general ages) but we are a bit behind them in that respect. I think the fizzy brigade have been in existence in various forums and owners clubs for many years now......having no interest in that particular machine, don't quote me on that. We are still quite young, we lost two and a half years of trust and respect due to someone who ran the original forum (and wasn't a true enthusiast for the breed) but hey ho, we will get there.

We need more commitment from members but this can only be expected through localized meets. Expecting members to ride 3 hours each way is never going to work except on a once a year, well organized event. The fizzy success comes from numerous things. Things we seem to struggle with sometimes. They meticulously organise their runs, right down to a back up forum bike. They seem to be able to take the piss out of each other without having to explain it's in jest, or anyone taking offence. They involve wives and girlfriends, this makes attending events a lot easier Our last major event as a group, (on the previous forum), was dire to be honest. The location was crap, no planned routes, no real idea of what a meeting should involve. It could have quite easily put members off totally. I think we have a lot to learn.

Sounds like we have an event organizer in our midst then... Step up to the plate and take it on Cheggs. To be fair, I thought the location at Rutland was good - a thought echoed by many of our seasoned members, hence why we tried to make it happen again. Yes the organisation was crap but then that was probably to be expected. The biggest problem we have is commitment because of location......but I am hoping with every new member we get, that will change. As for taking the piss out of one another I think we do that well and know when to stop - it is my understanding that the fizzy guys have had some serious breakdowns and continue to do so - breaking down into various splitter sites etc etc etc......so I think it is human nature for certain people to give but maybe not take......it's certainly not uniquely found here.

Sorry, the location was crap mate. It was an overgrown field with a single toilet 300 yards away. The owner didn't realise that a motorbike made a noise so made us use the back gate to avoid upsetting the 4 other guests in caravans. there was nothing around except a chip shop. luckily there was a deserted pub within walking distance. It was crap.

To the best of my knowledge.there as only been one split.for the fizzy gang.and that was due the old forum main man.he was or tryed to be a dictator.(ring any bells) he tryed to do a big meet at butlins at a great cost to members.the meet would allso coincide.with the mans 50 birthday.so all his family would have been invited.he was not happy when questions was asked.so told the members take it or leave it.so thats how the fs1e splitters was formed.and the word on the street as it.the original site is as dead as a do do

Are you coming to Wales in September Cheggy? No mate, it's too far to go on the bike and funds won't stretch to hiring a van at the minute.
