It is a fair old treck, wherever you have a meet it's not going to suit everyone unfortunately, I think localised meets are probably the way forward.

Sorry, the location was crap mate. It was an overgrown field with a single toilet 300 yards away. The owner didn't realise that a motorbike made a noise so made us use the back gate to avoid upsetting the 4 other guests in caravans. there was nothing around except a chip shop. luckily there was a deserted pub within walking distance. It was crap. So what's so wrong with p*ssing in your tent and bringing along tonnes of your own food? Thought you northerners were meant to be hard, but by the sounds of it you were expecting a glamping event put on by Claridges London...... Yes, I admit the campsite owner was (and still is) a dork........hence why he cancelled on us this year for some odd reason. But for a meet up between like minded enthusiasts I loved it - thought it was a great place to talk to you all and get out on a few rides around a gorgeous part of the country which was reasonably central to where everyone lived at the time.....it did what it said on the tin mostly.....I expected little from it but was happy with what I got out of it. I think we are a different scene to the kiss me quick style fizzy people........but I am determined that we will somehow get a bunch of genuine enthusiasts with their bikes together asap, be it localized or people making the effort to travel more than a few miles to meet - much like a few of us did back in September. 3 hours and an aching bum but I was one of the few that made the effort, and I hope it shows the commitment of some of us.

In fairness Nick, your experience at Rutland was totally different to the rest of us mate.
I've been on a couple of the fs1e runs and compared to ours they were miles ahead in organisation. I have faith that we can get to that level over time. It's a learning curve after all.

I'm hoping to win the raffle for a NOS flasher can! Although after checking only 8psi in FWF's front tyre maybe I need a new inner tube instead!
I suppose we should have decided earlier Dave and headed over West- maybe some of the other yorkshire lot are out today?....

That's the star prize paul , third prize is a second hand tube with only 1 patch on it. Aye a ride up to the dales would be good, but an earlier start would be needed to really make it a good day

The only difference was I stayed in a chalet if that is what you meant......the option was cheap and open to us all if I remember correctly. Anyway, I bowed to the pressure in Wales and camped it (and enjoyed it) even though I froze my b*llocks off.......if it wasn't for Kev's missus (Shell) I wouldn't have come back.

We talked about the problems we face getting peeps all together. How about baby steps first and all us Yorkshire area lot meet up for a day and have a ride/natter? We easily got to Sherburn today and that must be doable for a few others?
