Like most of us I had to change the exhausts on my Superdream. But the pattern ones that are for sale don't line up perfectly and I seem to have a bit of a job getting the gaskets on. Does anybody know a supplier for properly fitting 2-into-2 exhausts or even a source of original Honda ones?

Where did you get your pattern items? And are we talking silencers, collectors or down pipes (or the entire system)? Welcome by the way.

I bought some from Stafford show last October but haven't yet fitted them, hopefully they will line up. unfortunately I can't remember the name of the stall but will let you know when I eventually fit them.
good luck anyway.

Hi Bluedreamer. I too have had similar problems. The pattern silencers that I bought were about 1" too long from memory. This did not matter in my case as I had no exhaust brackets, so I made the brackets from stainless steel to fit the silencers. It is not possible to cut 1" from the front end of the silencer as the shape would not allow it to fit into the collector box.
The common pattern downpipes on sale seem to be slightly larger in outside diameter to the originals, this make fitting the collector box seals to them very difficult if not impossible without damaging the seal. Someone on here said that it is possible to grind down the the end of the downpipe so that the seals can be pushed on.
The Jama system from the US looks interesting, they obviously think an SD will run OK without a collector box, I wonder how much the postage would be.

Indeed it does Certainly no worse than a 2-1 system. There is a balance pipe between the two, so the pipes are still inter-linked. That link was just the first I found for the system I have, but it's available in Europe as well as the US.

Brituro pattern silencers are a straight swap for the original, and I also think DS gets his from the same place? I compared the 2 types a while back Here in this thread. I think most of the misalignment problems seem to be down to the "H" pattern balancer boxes to varying degrees of frustration....

Hi All. The question seems to be answered, but you have all made me doubt my own reasoning. Why did I think my replacement silencers were too long? I did not have the silencer brackets in the first place. Perhaps I am going mad or a bit senile. All the best. Mike.

Hi all,
Thanks for your ideas! My exhausts all line up together, downpipes, collector box and silencers but with it all together They don't align with the silencer brackets. I think it is the downpipes that are a bit too long!

I think it is the downpipes that are a bit too long! Hi. I have pattern downpipes, collector box and silencers on mine . The collector box end of the downpipes were too big to go into the graphite gaskets, so I ground them down until they fitted. When I got the bike it had a 2 into 1 motad exhaust ,so had no silencer brackets . If there was a difference in the overall length I was unaware of it as I made the brackets to suit. I'm afraid it one of the problems with pattern parts.

Mind you, you would think in this day and age where they can copy rolex watches that even some are very hard to spot that they cannot make down pipes and silencers identical to the original! I for one would pay a bit more for something that was an exact copy!
