The MBL-1H horn I fitted to SBY has gradually been getting higher and higher in tone and whilst out yesterday it is barely now producing a whimper.
I think it is dead.
Replacement MBL-2H (correct item) fitted last night but my god they are a dark art. They only appear to work if you have the correct thickness of bracket which appears to be made up of three thin sections of tin.
Last night what should of been a 5 minute job turned into an hour or more getting the horn to sound acceptable in tone. At one stage I omitted one of the brackets so the thickness was lost a bit (longer story as to what lead to this action) but the long and short was that it needed to have the thickness of three to actually work.
