Yep, that's the one buster, The guy is just a natural genius, but it good to see you don't need masses of kit to produce a result.

Last night as I put the Bonneville on the centre I forgot that the disc lock was on.....suffice to say, the lock whacked against the L/H fork slider chipping the paint. Annoyed with myself of course.....but will not dwell on it. It's also not the first time I have re-finished the sliders on this Bonneville.....but luckily I still have some of the paints left to correct this mishap. Getting there. Should be completed by tomorrow at the latest.

It has been a fork themed day. After a week of so, I have now got my forks back from a (very reasonably priced working from home) professional vintage motorcycle fork specialist so that I can put back together the front end on my BSA A65. New chrome stanchions, new internal and external seals, dust covers and of course new oil.....not forgetting new decals for the fork nuts (the devil is always in the detail). I wonder if any of you older folk recall the names of any of those recommended fork oils......

Maybe Mark but I am guessing your bike is at least a 1975 onward so there must have been some internal change if not evident from the outside. Does your bike have the conical hubs? Here are more shots of mine:

it is a 74 and has a front disc but bar a caliper mount they look the same but have now found out the fork stations are different on the hub brake and disc model so they look the same but are not.changed the stations on mine last winter got as a complete kit from JP williams, things to look out for when chasing parts

well the press came today all built up and christened ,This is my opinion of this press well at £125 delivered i was not expecting top quality and it is not, i got the 20 ton because i knew it would be exaggerated and was not wrong.the clark one that i am compairing it with is £300 more .the gauge of steel is thinner 4.4 fasteners the clark 8.8 .it would be nice to be higher.but fore the cost i can adapt to suit my needs and works fine.i just do not need a higher spec one for what i want and made a little job today a lot easier
