Good luck with the horseshoes. This is my finished product for the day. What the sh*t's that I hear you ask? It's a Bantam D7 engine actually. Sorry nothing to do with an SD. Just finished it for one of my Devon friends. It had crank alignment problems so involved a bit of work with the press but thankfully now it's all aligned and back in one piece.

I am going to need to invest in a press not a thing I have needed but all the auto eng have shut what size is your press mik been looking and second hand one's do not come up for sale much. This is were I miss work

Hi Mark. Below is a picture of my 12 ton press. It was a relatively cheap one, there are more elaborate ones available, with pressure gauges so that you know how much force you are applying. I use it mainly for pressing crank pins in and out of Bantam crank shafts. The force needed is roughly 3 tons. I think it would struggle to apply 12 tons but it's fine for what I need it for. The press pins and metal blocks that you may need for specific jobs can end up costing a bit, unless you have stock lying around.

Thanks so a 10 to 12 ton will be good for what I need just some crank work pland for the dark nights.mist a 10 ton bench press and it was local did not think it was big enough the one at work was a 150ton and probably weighed that

I'm gonni tell you another story. What myself and my wee mate Bobby did in my shed today. Got the rear shock out from the frame of his GPx600R. I couldn't sell the bike, so I gave it to Bobby and can I say, its the least i could do for all the help he has been. Here are a few pics for what we achieved........OOOh and some carb pics of same bike, I got them out. I am getting a dab hand at it. I managed to get Rona's CB400SF carbs out in only 2 days...with no cut hands or fingers (obviously doing something wrong) No idea what order the pics will be in, but will range from dirty to cleaner. Gee.

I've got this in my watch list:
Seems cheap compared to a 'proper' brand but they've sold loads. When I've build my garage I may take the plunge.

that looks ok andy just the job and not expensive to some i have seen ,i do miss the big boys toys jonny i had the pleasure of playing with and got paid as well but the next item was going to be a better lathe but i think when i leave here it will to look at presses

Last night as I put the Bonneville on the centre I forgot that the disc lock was on.....suffice to say, the lock whacked against the L/H fork slider chipping the paint. Annoyed with myself of course.....but will not dwell on it. It's also not the first time I have re-finished the sliders on this Bonneville.....but luckily I still have some of the paints left to correct this mishap.

never had a caliper seal fail on me before but its not nice when it happens the triumph now back of the road got a week out of it,all parts on the way seal kit £9.99 new ebc pads £20.pads that are in were new but I don't think its advisable to re use.i think it is going to be on my to do list to change brake system seals on a bike that has been stored for long periods. You forget that all these components are designed to move
