Not bike related and I know you may think this a little early, but the Wife has commissioned me to make her a Christmas tree out of horse shoes.
So out with the welder
I'm going to put programmable lights in the larger holes, jeeze they were hard to drill and paint it Candy Apple Red Metallic flake.
And to go with it, a reindeer, I'm afraid I'm two horseshoes short of a reindeer at the moment

Still searching for reason for no spark
So far found no power to coil but putting power directly to it has no effect Replaced coil lead plug and cap as they where a bit naff Found out wiring is peculiar to this year and doesn't match Haynes or Yamaha factory wiring diagrams Ignition switch tested ok but is a very rare 11 wire item and the only one I could find was $75 with $35 postage + taxes so I dismantled, cleaned inside switch and lock and it now feels mutch more positive
Rusty cover was rubbed down and resprayed with so called chrome paint looks a lot better but I wouldn't call it chrome just a really bright silver
Rotor, lighting and ignition coils, points and condensor are all new as fitted by previous owner but that's my next job to see if he's done something silly like left off the felt washer under points

I was right what's wrong with the way these points are fitted
Moved right hand connection to between plastic isolators to create circuit. The previous owner had effectively fitted both sides of points together and also fitted later condenser with tag that sticks out that was wearing away inside of rotor. I just bent it back out of way as I guessing only difference is the
connector on the end of condenser so should be OK. Haven't tried to start it yet as I have a fair bit of reassembly before then.
