She doesn't need any encouragement with adding to her bike collection Terry. On the other hand, that's something I would enjoy riding too

Today I have mostly been getting depressed by all the work I'm having to correct on my SD rebuild, but, thanks to all the help from guys on the Forum I am ridding them one by one.
The only major one left (as far as I know to date) is getting one of the Head Bolt Threads in the Upper Crankcase sorted. Looks like someone partially stripped the thread and knocked the bottom of the blind retaining out into the crankcase. I am hoping that my local Motorcycle Engineer and his briliant Alloy Welder's son can muster a solution for me (keeping fingers crossed).
If anyone know any good Motorcycle Engineers in the Midlands Area (or even further a field) as a back up I would be very grateful.
So work on hold until this is sorted.
Phil

Only today on a classic bike forum SEP engineering in Kegworth was highly reccomended they did work on a cylinder head for me via a third party all well and few old timers in VMCC used them all well, but if you’re near Rugby another company was reccomended to me,let me know if you want their details

Decided to check out the valve timing on my xs750 as power delivery was not quite right. Thought the timing marks were slightly misaligned so decided to change the chain to ensure it was not just stretched. In the process after I had broken a link to wind the new one back on the temp metal link I had made to attached the new chain to the old to wind it round the crankshaft came off half way round so had to strip off the LH side of the engine to get the chain back on, bugger. Just awaiting the gaskets to put it all back together but it looks like the chain must have ben slightly stretched after all as the marks line up perfectly now, won't know for sure till I get it all back together and wind it over a few times but looks good at the moment. Hopefully it will all be worth it in the end.

Oh no, it happens to me as well on a regular enough basis . I should have asked the wife to come out and give me a hand as it was a three hand job to work it round the crankshaft. Trying to wiggle it around while turning the crank, feeding the new chain in and pulling the old chain out was one hand more than I had! Its all back together now so just need to refit the electronic ignition triggers and rivet the chain permanently then set up the timing etc. Job for tomorrow after screwing the bottom end all back together again tonight. Still awaiting my SD frame back to start assembly but would like to get the tank and seat back on and this one complete again first to gain some room so not chasing the Powdercoater, despite him being three weeks overdue

all this week running around sorting out my dads affairs for his big day tomorrow i got new throttle cables for the superdream last year as new battery and fresh fuel went to start the superdream the pull cable snapped.new cables arrived but the push was about 10cm longer,i tied to fit but no way without putting a kink in the cable.there are 3 motorcycle part suppliers near me all had the cable in stock every one was to long even though under different part numbers. in the end i cut the cable to length and fitted a new nipple.i think the suppy of cables on ebay are for the european model

Finaly managed to get my “new” 10x8 shed erected, only downside being not taking the roof overhang into account meaning I can’t wheel my trailer past 🥲 can get it past up ended on a dolly. Will be filling it over next few days and me Superdream will be living in there😁
