Now that the weather has warmed up I can start to make the rear end in carbon. It will need a few layers before I can start to create the finished look. Hopefully it will stay warm and I will be able to get it finished. Need this sorted before I can move on the the battery tray and wiring.

Bigbird's master cylinder post reminded my I hadn't got round to fitting the original master cylinder back on the RSD. During the rebuild, I'd fitted an aftermarket version to get the bike finished & in for test. Then Covid came along & the test centre was closed, so I got the original rebuilt, but decided to leave fitting it to the bike 'till after the test. 'Course by then it was summer & the bike was in regular use, so I never got round to it. The aftermarket version had a slightly bent lever, so it definitely needed doing The original was all primed & ready to go Fitted on the bike, a quick swap over from the sealing bolt to the hose banjo bolt & no bleeding needed

well the sun out no jobs to do in the house till the plaster as been so the throttle cables on gave it some fuel and it started as though it was yesterday then the rear mudguard hit me it was white around the reflector .as it will be april when it goes on the road there are some bits and bobs that could do with a freshen up.

I spent the day starting to clean out and sort out the workshop. This involved finishing off a few jobs on various bikes and a lot of sorting/claning/throwing away of all sorts of junk. After a full day of it the place is as messy as ever so lots more work needed to finish. I had run out of room and was starting the SD and a series 3 landrover build that i had the chassis delivered last week for, I need some room to do them so some reorganisation is needed.

I cleaned up and painted a pair of rare folding footrests I had to get sent from Australia for the Spit only to find one was twisted in two directions (should have checked before painting and fitting) So blasted again and the blowtorch and a big F**k off shifter and nearly 400C of heat to straighten it before repainting it again. Will bake tomorrow and refit and hopefully that is that bike ready for the summer.

Fitted a rear rack to Gill's Grom today. It's a Honda rack, so I thought it would fit ok. Like the Grom, it's made in Thailand, so wasn't expensive, but the instructions were in Thai, so fitting it took a bit of working out Best bit was working in the warm conservatory instead of the cold shed

Yes Mark, things are going downhill here, with new cases increasing daily. They reckon it will be September before the borders are fully opened, so no bike trips again this year for us See you in 2022!
