This is going to kill forums. What about all the historic build threads, meet photos, etc. etc.
It looks as though photobucket no longer want to pay bandwidth costs for people with free accounts. And once the free account is locked you only have the 400 quid option. Does not seem to be affecting any paid accounts, so some peeps are quickly upgrading to the lowest paid option in order to retain access and be able to download all their images.
I first thought that this will kill photobucket as very few will pay such a high amount. Maybe it will, but they are not getting any income from the free accounts anyway.....

They still get advertising revenue from the free accounts so it may cost them in the long run

I think everybody gets the adverts Terry- paid and unpaid, that's a complaint from photobucket users.
But the difference is that on here photobucket is paying to host a photo on a page surrounded by adverts that earn proboards money.
The price demanded is obviously to get everybody to bugger off anyway. Maybe photobucket have changed their business model......

I`ve just been looking through the new terms and conditions and is seems that the free account, the ad free account which cost $2.49 a month, the plus 50 plan @ $59.99 a year do NOT allow any image linking or 3rd party image hosting.
The cheapest plan that allows image linking but not 3rd party image hosting is the plus 100 plan @ $99.99.
If you want Unlimited image linking and unlimited 3rd party hosting the plus plan 500 @ $399.99 is the only one available.
