Sorry Ian, I thought I had replied to your post, I obviously missed a 'click' somewhere. I did try another CDI unit but that was out of a box of bits and unproven. I had already ordered a new one from Rex'x and it is now running again, interesting what you say about the 250 cdi appearing to be more reliable than the 400. I'm just waiting on a brake light switch and it's off for its mot.
