Black bikes are only fast downhill, its all the lead in the paint makes them too heavy to compete with the beautiful candy red, which is a much lighter paint. As for the silver, they are just the basecoat of candy red, and its a well known fact that the superior shine of the candy red finish makes them slip through the air far better than the rest, giving them the edge on speed...

Dave. I know you said you don't drink. But with a post like this you must be on the sauce or even something harder. Lay off it mate - big day tomorrow getting soaked - early morning.

you will need a soft link, split the old chain, split the new chain join them together and pull the new chain round the crankshaft with the old one, join the new one together with a soft link and rivet back together, set the valve timing then tension the chain. once you get to 20 posts you`ll be able to access the technical help section and I did a step by step guide when I did mine a couple of months ago, it may be of help to you.

Not seen or heard bike yet. Been told chain rattles when cold. Lot less when hot

I wouldn't stress about this, just wait till you get the bike & manual to look over. There are two chains to rattle - the cam chain & the balance shaft chain. Both have adjusters which are prone to sticking, so 'performing the adjustment' might not work, but there are dodges to get round this. The cam chain replacement involves lining up marks on the cam sprocket & wazzbo's thread will guide you through it. Is it common? Dunno, but my 250NB is a bit noisy at 39k, & one day I'll get round to replacing the cam & balance chains, but for now I just enjoy riding it
