Great, thoughtful and helpful advice. I shall try. Should it be a new thread, as it's a new way of thinking or continue on this thread? A new thread would be good as this is the welcome section wealdenrust. There is a restoration section where you can run a thread on your progress but I think you need 20 posts to access it. You could start a thread in general section and it could be moved by staff to restorations when you have enough posts to access it. I think what I`ve said is correct but someone will correct me if I`m wrong.

The restoration section sounds the best so I'd better get busy with posting. Thanks

As you see, my first attempt to show just what a state the dream is in. However I have managed to add some random letters underneath. Sorry, my phone is not the place to do this type of insertion. But, the photo shows the state of my beauty as found. It is is bits now, as you already guessed.

CB250NA in Custom Silver Metallic. You can tell she is a low miler - just look at that seat - I mean the shape etc - sure it has age related marks but it looks like it has never had an arse on it.

You are right about the seat, I hadn't really noticed. Good news. I have to go to Argos to pick up an Ebay purchase for "Subject 2815" (my very own Superdream). a pair of silencers (chrome) to replace the wrecks I have. This means I'm on track to get the bike into life in a couple of weeks once the collector is repaired.

Just in case you haven't already guessed the state of 'Subject 2815' here's proof of the problem of 35years in a shed. :-(

Wow. I'm sure they've recovered artefacts from the Titanic in better condition than that. The bike's overall condition didn't look too bad from the photo.... is that the worst bit of the bunch?

Lost Treasure it is not but suffering from much metal fatigue... There is surface rust everywhere but as yet no bigger disaster than... (see below)

Ooh shiney- they will look good on!
Are the internal pipes on that balancer box perforated at all? Looks like a CM400 box from here.....

They look super shiny. Better get the wire brush on your power drill, as those silencers will definitely make everything else look rusty! Looking forward to seeing them on.

And what is so wrong with the first and third silencer in your pics? Plenty of life left in them. Seen a lost worse on fleabay of late. Admittedly they may blow a bit - but this is what exhaust wraps, chewing gum and gun-gum was design for.
