I placed an order with David Silvers on 27th November and still have not received one item of the order and he charged me £11.75 delivery. The order was for about £200 and included 14 different items. He obviously holds the order until everything is in stock which I think is a poor way of doing business surely he should send whatever he has in stock. I also have had no correspondence from him informing me about shortages, progress etc. We send stuff out to our customers and if I operated the way Silvers do I think our customers would tell me where to stick it, we send out whatever we have in stock and we would never charge the customer for the privilege of receiving their items 2 months after ordering them. Another great example of shit customer service within the Motorcycle industry.

They notoriously close down over the Xmas period.......must be for at least a few weeks, or at least they used to. Guessing they still may so I reckon this has slowed things down for you, H.

They done this with a previous order too Nick I had to email them to find out what was happening. I think they should at least keep the customer informed I have basically given him a zero percent loan for 2 months.

It's frustrating Harold, but to be fair CMSNL do this as well. But they more often have the parts actually in stock.

It is frustrating Paul and poor service, but then where else do you go. I think if they were trading in a more competitive market they would have to improve their service, but they know they have a captive audience so don't seem to care.

The dreaded "back order" I had to wait nearly a month for my last order from D's, one item of the order was on backorder. I was waiting ages for cms with a big order, again one item on back order. I contacted them after about a month, and they shipped what they had in stock the next day. The part they were waiting for arrived a week or so later post free.

If you ring 'em and request that they send some of the received parts out......I think they will gladly do this....so for example if you need some of the parts quickly understanding that the rest is on back order as they are sourcing from abroad.........then I reckon they will send what they have at the earliest opportunity.
This is the experience I had.....but this was a year or so back.....hoping the service is still the same. From memory, they didn't even charge me twice for postage on this occasion.

I emailed Silvers yesterday to chase up the order I placed on the 27th Nov. asking why I had not received it and why I had received no correspondence as to the orders progress. I got an email back which basically said, sorry about that we are waiting on your exhausts which have an expected delivery date of late March. Six other customers are waiting on these as well. There was no offer to send out the in stock items or any explanation as to why they would hold the complete order for one missing item. I think to expect someone to wait 4 months on an order is ridiculous, I mean if you needed these parts to maintain your only form of transport it's not much use is it ? I have asked that they forward the rest of the order to me and I am awaiting a response. Very poor service in my opinion.

I know the collector box has had a supply issue for some time and still I don't think it has been resolved? Just had a quick shooftie on ebay around the usual old haunts for pattern headers and there does not seem much out there now.......but why? Very odd.
