A few years ago, I restored a BSA Royal Star to its former glory. It was beautiful. The problem was it got dirty when I rode it. Shall my Superdream be a rider or a shower? ? Mike

I'm still riding my Superdream every day and cleaning it every other day but as soon as the frosts come & salt on roads I will be putting it away for the rest of winter

A rider Mike, bikes are meant to be ridden. I restored mine with the intention of just admiring it and maybe showing it sometimes, but that idea didn't last long, as soon as it was finished I was riding it and that gives me more pleasure than just having it as a show bike ever could. As I get older I realise my riding days are numbered so I ride my bikes as much as I can while I,m still fit enough to. When I can't ride anymore, that is when I'll be happy just having them as show pieces.

I agree with the guys make it a rider, ornaments should be on the mantle piece.

Ornament - every time.
Why on earth would one want to ride a lovely restored Honda Superdream? It beggars belief.

Salt plays havoc with any bike and I don't ride once it appears on roads, could appear this weekend!!I would ride on odd nice winter day in past but too much hassle washing salt off.I will be riding my twist and go scooters though as they're all plastic

I've not had a proper run out since the Wales meet in September, really missed it, I usually ride throughout the winter with only salt stopping me.

I really enjoy riding my SD , bought it as an all year commuter , that was 4_years ago , rode it 30 miles a day 5days a week through sun , rain & snow , but no more salty , icy roads I don't enjoy getting that cold these days.... Though I get restless when i can't use my bike....
