I think the bike looks lovely, we can't all have nut and bolt restorations! By the way is that the new David Silver replacement seat or did you just change the cover? I bought a pattern seat about 15 years ago and that does not quite fit to perfection.

At the end of the day its your project... and if someone else buys it they can change it back etc.. But if it starts, stops and looks good then what the hell... Maybe six years ago I over heard a conversion "two bike snobs" complaining about tatty stainless steel etc.. I thought oh "holy sugar puffs",I've always rammed them full of stainless..but always keeped all the original stuff and handed over if required. I love stainless steel and would have the exhaust etc all done in it...as I don't have to worry about corrosion. I did my zx7r in 2004 with standard Kawasaki plated stuff and it all needs doing again. The standard exhaust needs blasting and painting every two years, or it just disappears in a brown pile on the floor. If I owned your 400, I would be tempted to take it to shows.
Between the winter and the summer period bike prices have jumped up and some £600 bikes I would not pay £150 for... I think that it was this price spike that caused the issue. It can be an expensive hobby and you have to be very carefull that you do not get carried away..as i did with an RGV250 before they where worth megger bucks..really gutted..but thats another one that will last a bit longer...

I've not been on for a day or two and wow Tinytots you've made it interesting as I said in another thread my bike should look like yours ,but it does'nt it looks like this and since this picture was took it has changed again I've fitted an N type seat with a plain cover and the early flat type tail piece (its easier to remove the seat with the rack on and my correct seat needs a new cover)but just to say they are a great bunch of guys on here and their hearts are in the right place they will bend over backwards to help a fellow dreamer (not a pretty sight) so enjoy the forum as you are with friends

I like those silencers and the screen is modern and cool. I'm a great believer in comfort and ease. I will change any bike that I own for comfort, looks and ease. Original is good, but custom and adding the personal touch is best. What did you use for link pipes to your silencers? If my 400 doesn't sell as a standard bike, I'm going to strip it and cafe racer the pants of it. I'll sell off what I don't use.

Could of done with those today in Stratford. Nothing like big fat loud exhausts that 'get out of the road'.
