At the end of the day I suppose they were / are work horses to most - just like the SD.
Just got a 1995 Bandit 600 - one of the first batch registered early 1995. Minor tidying required. - but she's nice. I love bringing them back.

£360 quid.....all being well this will land here with me in Warwickshire tomorrow. What built in Japan can you get for that money these days? Reminds me of the days gone by.....but then again not so long ago when you could get a decent-ish Superdream for around that money....the following image from 2005 - bike gained at around the same money via the same medium.

It will happen to even these humble little (some might say) ugly beasts Tel....
Bikes that have done their owners proud - have been there with them whilst learning and gurning, in the snow...even if little to show.........they will always gain a cult following in the end.....and therefore prices (somewhat sadly) will rise....it's the nature of the beast.

Fingers crossed all works out with the new GS, FB me owd mukker! Bikes like these are the Escort MK1's and 2's, Vauxhall Nova SR's etc etc of our days - all the hum-drum stuff that was new and in-vogue to us growing up that our older peers had, and then ended up into banger territory. All the good ones that are left are now sought out by those of us with disposable income, and that pushes the prices right up. I am still on the look out for a nice, un-fettled with, silk-violet Nova GSi... I did have the chance to get one a fair few years back for a bag of sand. However, I was also offered an Astra GSi at the same price. Plumed for the Astra. Still want the Nova. Prices now well out of pocket-money territory Missed you all by the way folks, hope you are all keeping well

Cheers Chris and good to have you looking in again. Good luck with the Nova my friend. The 3rd GS500E I have now purchased turned up yesterday from Luton. 25k miles and this one has certainly done a few winters. But perfect for the job in hand I reckon......a possible future work commuter for me. Very much improvable but at low cost. I bagged it for £360 on ebay due to a 'starting problem'. Please to report that this problem was sorted very easily today after some minor head scratching - motor sounds good. A £425 invoice from a couple of years ago was also a pleasing sight. ALA - (All letters answered).

Its a lot tidier than mine Nick, but I`m afraid mine has to earn its keep and get me to work in all but the very worst weather and if it looked too good I wouldn`t want to ride it in bad weather, so it stays a cosmetic dog....

This one is of the same ilk, Dave - I assure you.
The pictures really do flatter it. It even has a dent in the fuel tank.

I keep threatening to get the frame powder coated, it would certainly improve the old thing, but I can`t be doing with it off the road really..

I really wouldn't bother personally - just touch 'em up and keep 'em going - as long as they are respectable and reliable runners - it's the whole point..
The other two I've had were much nicer. But if they are to be workhorses what's the point? Gotta stay focussed with this one. It is what it is.

That's the thing.....until the damn things start rising in value due to the enthusiast and vintage thing......they stopped making 'em....
Grrrrr.....you just can't win.
