Yeah, the right decal has been "repainted" when the owner dealt with an issue with that bottom corner of the tank. I suspect that if i strip that corner I will find a pin hole in the usual place where they rot through.
The dent came when I was getting the bike out of the Espace and let it over-balance to one side. It went hard over against the door frame!!!
GGrrrrrr!!!!

One day hopefully NC decals will be around as a decent repro item.
For now, you could have a word with Imageworks. They will need to see a picture of your tank and they will confirm if they stock your particular ones.
I think the best bet though is to keep an eye out for a used blue NC tank from Germany.
Of course this one can be repaired but you have to ask if it is worth the cost / effort.

I have just seen the ebay pics. you are right richard about checking for the pin holes, if i were you i would get a wire wheel on that area from the previous repair and check whats hiding underneath, as Fungo said it maybe worth a search for another tank if you have corrosion issues on that righthand side, get some pics up when you can.

Not yet, but I think we all know.....
I am trying to make up my mind re my next move. I was planning anyway to get it blasted back to bare metal and repair any damage on the right, but now I wonder if I should find a firm to pull out the dent or just give up and look for another tank. Ironically I have a load of tanks, but none of them are right for this bike!

Ah fook!!!!
To my - admittedly untrained - eye, that type of dent/crease is almost impossible to pull out cleanly because you cannot get to the back of it to dress it properly (and we are not talking a Mary Quant little black number either!!!).
The impact has forced the side of the tank inward as well.
As Fungo says - probably cheaper to source a decent replacement from Germany. Chances are that the repaired area in the corner is worse than you think.
