The wheels can easily be bulled up to a decent standard - no question.
But as we all get under more pressure from having everything recreated to an exactly 'as they were' standard, my question was related to the basic issue of 'can these wheels get returned back 'as new' ?
At the moment, it looks unlikely. But.......someone was sent up to space in the 1970's. Surely anything is possible in the pursuit of originality?

I reckon bead blasting then a lacquer would bring them up nice.

Just an example (above) of how I had some Ford wheels refurbed a few years ago.
Shame the same cannot be achieved with the comstars.......

I know that the general consensus is that SD wheels cannot be refurbed but none of us are professionals, really one of us needs to approach an expert with a wheel in hand and see what they think. There could be a huge market for them  (I dont have a wheel so I couldn't help) |
