would that create a weak / intermittent spark?

yeah spent all afternoon wire brushing, sanding and scraping, all block connectors behind side panel cleaned also,my handlebar control looks worse than that one I had no end of problems with weak spark, intermittent spark, non starting, cutting out, needing recovery and eventually total failure to start, all cured by a Nos right hand switch.

Someone will know where one is hiding, usually FB or Ayrton. I got mine from Germany.

do you know how the hand control contributed to the weak spark?

I had the offending switch in pieces numerous times and to this day I cant work out what was wrong with it. It looked perfect, no broken wires, no corrosion, nothing. I put a donated switch on and it worked perfect, put the old switch back on and dead as a dodo. Sourced the Nos one and never had any issues since.

You can bypass the switch by pulling a wire from the cdi I think? I cant remember the exact method, something to do with a black and white wire I think?

I really don't fancy interfering with the CDI,will have to look for switches,I didn't anticipate this problem
