If its turbo diesel, make sure you do the egr mod. I was going to buy one when my first lad was born to throw child seats in the back........ but i bought a troll. Oh, and if you want to get funky, buy a voltage interceptor to install between your MAF & ECU. Tells ECU more air, hence ECU over fuels injectors within limits & great power boost with open loop systems.

What's the big old Ford called again that they've made in Oz for years Bendys? Much like the Holden Commodore. It was available as an estate (wagon) and saloon......another backpacker favourite.. It is similar in size and looks to our old Ford Granada.
Got a quick but funny story to tell you about one of those.

Yep, we made "Falcons" here during the same years. The collectors here now are anything from the XK (1969) to XC (76 i think). Rust is still a problem here. Not so much as you guys, but being written off due to high speed accidents seems to be the cause for premature disappearance.

Ooooooh how I'd love to get my hands on an XB GT If I did (which I probably never will), it absolutely would end up looking like this: www.aussiecoupes.com/max.html

Yes, that's it a Falcon.....I'm talking roughly between a 1978 to 85........roughly the same era as our Honda Superdream. I think it was built in Oz in parallel with our MK2 Ford Granada.......very square design, four doors and a boot on the saloon version. Anyway, when I was backpacking Oz back in 1999, we were out in the middle of nowhere in the Northern Territory. Parked up in one of those laybys with the barbeque facility etc and boar water... Anyway, we hear this commotion coming to towards us and it was a family of Aborigines driving one down the road with no tyres on it - steel rims on the road.
