Yes, to echo Graham's post........what tyre size are you running there, Rich? Can you post it up? Looks like a Pirelli but what size? The front tyre was always a low profile affair on the SD and there should indeed be a noticeable gap between tyre and guard (also see the banner bike for example). Yes Nick a Pirelli 90/90-19 M/C 52 S City Demon ,

I think it looks well and would say all but the keenest observer would know it wasn't original, as has been said already a massive improvement and I think it will effect the NOS market as to me it is a viable alternative. Thanks for posting Dicky.

Looks alright to me and a big step up from the other pattern. Be happy putting one on my SD (if I had one of course).

Are you still looking, Neil? [br Not really but never say never as they say. It might be the right thing to do one day but not now. I still look to see what's out there though.

There's been a lot of nice ones come up lately but if the time isn't right, the time isn't right.

It does look ok , but why why why did they have to put the line down the centre of it , they must have gone through a load of trouble with the presses and moulds etc so why couldnt they just make an exact copy of the original ?
Is the centre line as visable in real life as it looks on the pics ? It looks as if the ends of the mudguard goes to a point

You've achieved that Richard and we're grateful for it! Much better photos than on the DS website! I still maintain that it's really nice and by far the best muddy out there. The original has a crease down its middle which is quite obvious. When you consider what an original replacement costs I reckon it's a bargain. It may even take the pressure of the value of NOS.
Yes there's a few differences and the purists (of which I'm one!) will always prefer original but in the absence of, it will keep many SD' s looking more like they were intended to look.

Sorry guys - been so busy of late that I havent managed to look in...
Re the centre-line ridge............maybe Silvers did it deliberatley to purposely differentiate it from a genuine Honda guard?
We dont want ne'er do wells buying a stash of them, printing fake Honda labels and athen punting them out as Genuine do we?
Just a thought..............

Its miles better than those ugly universal type pattern mudguards that were previously the only alternative if you didn't have a decent original. I'd say if you have an original to re-chrome its still worth spending that little bit extra but these do look good and not a bad price either. just a shame about the ridge up the centre, it would have been better to have missed it out in my opinion than to try and then get it wrong. I'd still fit one to my bike Maybe this thread should be re-titled to 'Reproduction front muddy from David Silvers' as these are not to be confused with the 'pattern' muddys that have been around a while?
