Other than my other bikes (ST1100 Pan European and Yamaha XS400 mainly), my biggest 'other toy' is our motorhome: It has cost us 10 years of our savings, but it is our life-line from the daily grind and our escape to fantasy-land!!!!!!

How could you bring yourself to part with the MK2? I get the Cosworth thing but a mark 2 RS2000 and you had one. I too am a mahoosive Ford fan and in my time have had MK1 mexico's (x2) Capri's, escorts, ST Mondeo's, Cortina's etc etc but always wanted a MK2 RS. before I could get my mitts on one the prices went stratospheric and despite my hankerings I couldn't afford the kind of money they fetch nowadays ( well not as a toy anyway) so I just look on with envy and hope my numbers come up!. 'tis a thing of beauty mate, the Cossy is very nice too and don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say no but I still think I prefer the RS2000. mk1 OR 2!

I agree with Ian....although by far I am NOT a Ford fan, the MK2 would win hands down for me.....completely understated and a wolf in sheeps clothing - just the way I like it!!!!!

As opposed to Carl, I am a bit of a 'fast' Ford fan and I admire those two cars you have.
I had a really low mileage MK5 Escort RS2000 from 1993 in Pacifica Blue which had only covered 31k from new - it was a minter - none of the usual rot problems because it had been kept in a warm garage from 1996 to 2008 not going anywhere. It really was shocking what I paid for it (£1050). I only sold it two years ago but did get just over triple what I paid. It was an eye catching car, especially with its original diamond cut alloys which I had professionally re-furbished.
Not that the MK5 RS was anything like the legend of your two.....still a nice car though.
Here she was:

Greybeard , absolutly love the camper Ive wanted one now for about ten years but just out of my reach being able to afford one , once the mortgage is paid off a camper will be on my list
Mansell, I had the car ten years ang began to grow tired of it , it was quite modified and it just was not a joy to drive anymore , it could have easily been a concours car and the underneath was as clean as the top and I was afraid to take it out and get it wet as it used to take me days to get it clean again, this is no way to enjoy your car , and the Escort cossie is a car Ive dreamed of owning since the day they came out but was always out of my reach , but I bought the mk2 escort at the right time and sold it at the right time
Fungobat , I love the mk5 rs2000 , lovely looking cars and that was in the best colour The cossie is more or less standard power , bigger wheels , big brakes , koni suspension , stainless exhaust , and other than the exhaust i have everything to take it back to a standard car which one day I will do

Both very special motors mate and you're a lucky man to have owned them. What next, a focus RS? It's on my bucket list!!

I Wouldnt be able to do it now , I just happened to buy the MK2 Escort RS2000 at the right time and sell it at the right time , classic Ford RS ownership is sadly out of reach for many people now

Love the camper, I NEED one in my life! I am certain you would enjoy it mate!!!! Ours cost us far more than would be sensible, but then we dont have kids or owt....... But there are cheaper ones out there. A decent hi-top conversion, with back doors, would probably suit you Sir - you could get the bike in the back then!!!!

Lets try the photo thing again. Hopefully you will be seeing my current Porsche 924,my also current Ford Probe and finally one of my many Capris, this was a 1600 Laser Showcar, hopefully somewhere I have some pics of the ultimate Capri,in every sense -the 280 Brooklands, unfortunately all the Capris are long gone and are all now way out of my price range! Interesting point for Top Gear fans, the garages in the background of the Capri pic are where they filmed the episode where Jezza repeatedly rolled a Reliant onto its side, this was where Phil Oakey put him back on his wheels and about 150 yds from where Peter Stringfellow did the same thing.....I'll get my anorac!
