Wacked a new chain on to EKO last night after the MOT debacle on Saturday..... As it is such a rush job in order to get back down the station on Sat before I head off on a stag do, I have decided to renew the sprockets at a later date - hopefully next month. Luckily the old chain was not an endless one and came off easily......Job done... Quick tip: To save having to the remove the sprocket cover, I attached the new chain to the old one and rotated it around so it sat around the sprockets......not rocket science and I'm sure most of you would of thought to do the same..... Thank you for the music.........

Well done boyo.............and attaching the new chain to the old IS generally the accepted way to do it.
Its a real ball-ache otherwise to get the new chain over the primary sprocket...............

Pardon the pun.........and a call it a chain reaction........but I was 'geared' to remove the cover. I even bought a new generator cover gasket to do it. But when I was out there I had a brain wave.....darn that was two unintended puns above......apologies.

or course if your changing the sprockets at the same time then you can't link the new chain with the old and pull it through. So you'll still need your new gasket Nick! Although I've never replaced that gasket on mine and the genny casing has been off quite a few times. Put a smear of grease on the gasket and it'll come off again in the future to be reused

Yeah - it's glorious out there - I took the long away home and had a few rounds of Stratford town centre. It's the Global Gathering Festival here this weekend so there are a lot of people around......it was glorious riding it back and the bike was getting some attention......I clocked a white RD250LC as well. I am off to a stag-do in around 1/2 an hour so sadly, my bike time is over for this weekend.
