This is the one that got me back into biking , lucky find at the back of a shed . It had sat in the owners front garden for 18 months . Triumph TR65 What year is that one Graham? Hi Nick . Hope you are all well.. The Triumph is a "X" reg , August 1981. I think that was when Triumph factory was in the hands of the "co-operative" They only made 400 of this model being a 650cc all the rest were 750cc Tigers & Bonnie's Regards Graham

NO 3 FRANCIS BARNETT PLOVER were do they get there names, did not want the bike had no knowledge of them and that ended very costly .AMC fell out with villiers and went to italy to have there lightweight engines made, it did not go well.mine had one of those engines.Villiers services saved the day and rebuilt the engine just need new spokes and repair the gearbox.i get lots of leads for bikes from builders and i all ways regret turning items down ,at this time hiding behind my mobility scooter Just had the mag flywheel re-magnetized by villiers services, after 60 year spark was too weak for starting. Fitted but not tried starting it yet. Not had any dealing with the AMC engine but have heard they were a poor replacement .

Hello Graham the engine's were designed by AMC but built in Italy cheaply and it didn't work Villiers services say they are fine when good bearings are fitted as a modified Villiers conrod and the last+ 20 piston known.not had it running but been told they are fine when built Wright

So yes builder are a good source of bikes .

My bike No3 is my German CB400N FB posted the E-bay link on the forum and having kept looking at it for a week put a €600 Euro bid in in the last few seconds and bought it for €514, at the time no idea how I was going to get it to the UK A week or so later it arrived - put the battery off my 250 on and it started Took 15 months to get it back on the road, fork seals, brake seals, master cylinder....... Tyres - it had 1985 Metzlers on it I think - Recommissioned rather than strip down and full paint job It was last on the road in 1994 but had been stored in a heated garage It is still all original paint - not perfect but that is the way it will stay
