What are your memories and thoughts from this era, peeps? And will you ever experience such magical biking highs again in your life time?

What I do remember is how we would go out as a group for a ride with absolutely no aim of where we were going and still have a great day out . Just the freedom of being able to go "anywhere" suddenly being available and the urge to be out on your bike , even as an apprentice at lunchtime we'd be out on our bikes again just to go for a ride !

Similar thoughts for me too,but as we were riding Old British bangers almost inevitably someone would break down lol. Guess that’s why we never went far

For my daughters 7th Birthday we bought her a scooter. the weekend before her birthday we took her out to buy it.
she pushed it out the shop to the car, head upright, big smile and looking proud as punch
Thats probably how I felt when I picked up my first bike

It was fantastic being able to get about & I will always remember the feeling even on my first bike CB50 restricted to 30mph in 1979 I used to go everywhere on that bike & it hardly used any fuel, GP100 next & that kept up with the traffic, happy days & fantasic memories that a lot of youngsters will never experience.

Like many, I started on a FS1E,KUH474P, would ride day and night, my first taste of real freedom, passed my test on a SD, then cars took over, so many great memories.
