That's not the same 500 DOHC we had in the UK that had camshaft issues is it? Looks same as the 650 but my XS is the Custom version I bought with intention of making it into a flat tracker but lost interest now

We never got the TX500- Yamaha renamed it the XS500B for 1975 to distance itself from the TX750 fiasco. Looked much the same as above, but colour was Spanish Burgundy (Brown) and the UK models got the twin discs off the XS650 and the rear light off the FS1E.
It was balancer chain problems and the cyl heads cracking that made them less than popular....

Was it that long ago,what a memory I have lol recall it was bit pricey too but on paper was hyped up as a proper roadburner but was actualy slow and it didn't sell well,I bought a not very old Triumph TR6R export for £325 that year and sold it for £385 later in year,only bike I've made profit on I reckon lol
