It wasn't Villiers but good guess as they to my knowledge only produced 2 stroke engines

you did say 2 stroke..........so probably the likes of sc........or Pe or may turn out to be .....
find below Villiers automatic system, its been ages since I read this little book which mentions a gear 2t oil pump ( with load compensation?? ie more oil for more load ) .........

I see Villiers did produce a 4 stroke engine,learn smmat every day :)but they weren't first with it and nor were Scott.

Ok another clue,this manufacturer was better known for making 4 strokes,not many people associate them with 2 strokes

Velocette it is well done,1913 was the year believe it or not.Velocette were a very forward thinking company and had success racing up untill the second world war,their last 2 stroke was in the 1961 Viceroy scooter a flat twin 250cc.
