I've been using my Superdream a lot lately, I did not use it much between MOTs last year, I did just under 1000 between mots so I wanted to use it more this time, picked up a chuffing puncture i was on the M5 about 30 miles from home & it started feeling odd, I never thought it was a tyre going down I stopped to check around swinging arm as it was the rear that felt odd but couldn't see anything adrift tyre must of been going down from that point on as by the time I got to Taunton junction & went around the roundabout it became obvious it was flat or nearly flat, I rode the next 2 miles home very slow & got it home so now another job, I've took wheel off & luckily I have a spare innertube in loft if this ones had it. I didn't need this this weekend I have to go to Preston tomorrow to drop daughter to uni & meeting a few bikers on Sunday for a last of the summer rides ! & sometime next week I'm going to have to get the tyre leavers out again :/

Yum yum changing tyres manually on the early 1.85" rims- best have 3 Weetabix!

You did well to get it home Rich. My biggest fear is a puncture while away on the bikes - especially the SD with it's tubes.

Reverse comstars were 2.15" and tubeless. The 1.85" is right at the bottom end of the tyre manufacturers recommendations for ANY tyre- which is why oversize tyres on an early bike are a bit risky.
Putting a tubed tyre of the correct aspect ratio i.e. true to the original look- on the narrower rims is difficult....

It does run on flat without to much wobble I was surprised apart from cornering there is no way it would of got home had it been the front with the puncture, I would of had to get it home another way.

Rich I was away a few years ago on my Blade and was traveling from Llandudno to Pontypridd to see my half brother I set of in the rain and I got to Dolgellau and got a puncture in the back tyre so rang up my brother and he said if !!! I get to Merthyr his mate has a bike shop so 105 miles and 3 and a half hours later I arrived at the said shop for a new tyre stopping at every garage on the way for air and the only reason I knew I had a puncture in the first place was my stand hit the ground when I pulled in for fuel and to this day that is the only puncture I have ever had on a bike since I was 16 and am nearly 53 now

Called out green flag - 3 hours later turned up, surprisingly cold not fix it then waited a further 3 hours for a van to take me home They told me leave it by the road and we will pick it up when we have time - bike would not still have been there - it was below freezing by 18:00 Could not even realistically push the bike

For longer trips I carry a repair outfit/tube/levers and a small pump , always seem to get punctures in the Autumn when the roads are wet and the hedges have been cut with a rotary saw spraying the road with thorns ! Been trail riding for many years so you get used to "roadside" tube changes - I run sealant too but it only helps and is not infallable .
