hi i dont know if someone can help me got a 1982 250 dream and the bike starts and ticks over perfectly how ever when i am riding when ever i come to a stop at junction or roundabout the bike always cuts out , it starts fine straight away next junction same thing if i am blipping the throttle it does not cut out , anyone got some ideas i can try i have tried so far turning up the idle but this make NO difference

Sounds like it's crud in the carbs, Chief.
Not the most mechanical member here......but if it were my bike after doing the basics (plugs, air filter etc) my attention would be turning to at least dropping the bowls and assessing how dirty they may or may not be in there.

Almost certainly the carbs,or one of then clogged up.
Have you had them stripped down an given a really good cleaning,preferably with an ultrasonic cleaner. They are a begger to get properly clean and usually take several attempts before you get them sorted. Are all the o rings and the rubber bungs over the slow jet ok? Is the jet and emulsion tube that is fitted under the primary main jet clean? You can see it once the primary main jet is removed,unscrew it and gie it a good clean.

make sure your workbench is clean or put some clean cardboard down
