The question is academic really as I've already chosen to replace the steering head bearings with a taper roller set, but curious to know who has and who won't. The PO of my Superdream had fitted a set that just did not look right, upper bearing was sitting a bit proud for my liking.

taper bearings do sit a bit proud resulting in your headlight ears bouncing up and down easy fix is to use a plastic pipe rubber seal on top of the existing rubbers which takes out the bounce

fitted balls if they are good enough for honda,triumph, etcthey are good enough for me
days of going hell for leather are gone
