Hi all. Might be jumping-the-gun a little here, but have spotted a bike for sale. 400N. I can't post picture as my ipad won't let me. Anyhow, bike is 2500km away, so can't just pop around and have a look ! Just getting quotes on transport. Bike is missing exhausts and carbs - and maybe more. Will call him in the morning... Bike is grey with black engine and gold wheels/ forks and looks recoverable.... Vin is 2303667. Not sure what owner is teying to achieve pricewise yet.... question is, did these late models have different carbies to the 'regular' 400's ? Am I thinking I can do the impossible finding a pair ?

Not that different.....I've got a set from German eBay for the 400NC which is the model you've described so as easy to get as other 400N carbs.
I'm confident any of the 400N carbs will work fine on it 1978 through to '84. There were minor changes on the carbs thoughout the model run but nothing that would stop them being interchangeable.
The Admin of a now defunct Super Dream forum swapped a set over from an NA to an NC with no noticeable difference in running which further adds weight to what I stated above.
