Used to have a 250 dream back in the day, in fact it was the first "BIG BIKE" I had after passing my test back in '83. I'm not unfamiliar with rebuilding bikes in fact I've just finished an '88 BMW K100. Then out of the blue the wife says she fancies owning a bike again, up pops a cb250 shed of a project, next thing I know I'm tinkering away in my shed trying to work out what's missing and what's no use, fun, fun, fun.
Anyway, there will be many questions no doubt.

Cheers everyone, this is, I think is going to be one of my greatest challenges. I always keeps a photo record of a build to help me remember, the gallery for this build is here -> CB250 - A Superdream Rebult Not sure I'm going to keep the paint job though.

Hi John and welcome , I remember that bike , it was on FB (or Ebay) , I'd keep the Dream Machine paint, very "in period" , was the seat cowl damaged/missing ?

Hi John, welcome to the forum. I know what you mean about the paint, my 400NA had a similar paint job when I got it. At least the attention it received should have helped keep it in decent condition.

Yes FB, it was only 5 miles from me, the seat cowl is shot, the panels are only missing one lug between them, I think. The tank will take some work to bring bank to glory but it looks like a proper job though. There is a lot missing, it's a bit of a marriage of parts if I'm honest.

The paint job would have been by Dream Machine near Nottingham so yes a quality job , many years ago I had a "250 Special" Dream machine CB250N in metallic white

Dream Machine never used decals if I remember correctly - always 'painted' the decals on when copying an original.

I think what I'll end up doing is getting another tank and panels and spray them up, I don't have the heart the sand off that paint job.
