Hi all, I'm Gaz, was around on the old forum a little but am a newbie on this one :-) I've had my '82 400 for about fifteen years now, albeit under cover in the garden for the last ten (I moved house and when I updated my licence my motorcycle entitlement had disappeared. Dvla were exactly as helpful as you'd expect!) Life then got in the way for a few years but I'm planning to retake my tests this year and will get the old girl back up and about. Thanks, Gaz

Welcome back gaz i had a similar problem with my licence when I passed my test in the car it came back as a full car and bike licence but they had taken away my right to drive a plastic pig I'll never ever own another one of those so I let it go

I have that worry every 5 years as my licence goes to the DVLA to have my hgv entitlement renewed. You have to have a medical and eye test every 5 years after the age of 45 before you can get it renewed, and I never trust them to send it back with all the entitlements still on it, but so far so good l haven't had any problems yet...

Thanks all, I think they might have cottoned-on to the problems as the process has changed now - my photocard licence expired last month and I managed to renew online using an automagic link to my passport photo (which is almost as old as my "expired" photo from my licence...) The confirmation message said to check my new licence when it arrived, then snip my old one in half and return it to them afterwards.

Welcome Gaz, I've read about losing bike entitlements when applying for a replacement licence, what a bummer that must be, I always take a pic before I send it back.
