After seeing Brit Pete's carbs at Towcester I have decided to send a set of my 250 carbs to the same company for a refurb (vapour blast and ultrasonics). I have removed some fittings from a separate set and will have them yellow zinc plated at a company in Berkshire. I'll also get them to re plate some insulator bands in drab olive. Will report back.    |

Hopefully Pete will confirm but the figure of £50 was mentioned. I think this was just for the VB though not the Ultrasonics.

Nick, any idea what price we are looking at ? Vapour and Ultrasonics £50 per carb plus if you do it by post the postage (or do what I did drop them off and pick them up from Kempton park autojumble I changed all the screws etc for stainless and also fitted a refurb pack (new bungs, seals, jets etc) |

Sounds good BP.
Honda seemed to relax the yellow passivate around 1982/3 on a lot of the carburettor hardware.
I have a really tidy set from a 400ND which does not use the yellow at all.

Yes had the plating done - will upload pics later.
Funny you mention this now as I boxed them up last night and next week they are on their way to a guy located on the Scottish Borders who was making the right noises on the phone.

Is it The one in Selkirk? Yes that's the one, HJ. The chap sounds very knowledgeable on the phone and offers more than just a blasting / cleaning service. Also seems reasonable on price and is good at the communication thing. That said, have you used him or know someone who has? |

No haven’t used them but was looking at it on EBay, had my cards apart several times and had a rebuilt them but still not sure they are right. Looking at price of ultrasonic cleaner would make sense for someone else to bo them since I only have one superdream, but still would like a good 400.
